Coyotes are not a native species to KY. I’m a Tennessean and they’re not native here as well! They are an invasive species to this region and kill everything in their path. It offsets the wildlife balance in this area, and creates nightmares for farmers. Not to mention they carry many diseases that can effect human beings. These hunters weren’t just shooting at anything, they were following the law, which allows them to harvest the animal!

Before that coyote showed up, you were making some really sweet music on that call. What were you using, and how much practice have you had. That was as natural as I’ve heard!

When you’re out there to shoot whatever moves under the guise of “hunting,” a coyote is very convenient indeed.

It’s the laughing about death that really makes these videos telling.

no, we used the shotgun we were turkey hunting with.

  18. lostrivergamecalls on August 22nd, 2009 8:50 pm

Yeah, we were turkey hunting and the coyote responded to the turkey calls. I believe he was using 3 1/2 federal #5 turkey loads. They are deadly on yotes at leass than 50 yards. This dog was about 35 yards away and only ran about 30 yards.

OK – Educate me a little — Your out Turkey hunting the the coyote shows up…. Did you blast him with your shotgun with I am assuming a 3 or 3 1/2 inch turkey load or did you use something else?…. Can a turkey load drop a yote at that distance?…..

Coyote hunts are the best. Especially from the backseat of a pickup, ha.
