I dated a guy that was a hunter in every sense of the word. At first I thought that it was a silly thing to do and can be very costly. I became involved and found that it is very enjoyable. It is not just killing something, it is enjoying the outdoors. It is using your skills as a marksman. It is spending time with people who enjoy the same healthy competition. Hunters do use what they kill or they should. It is something that dad teaches son and passes on to further generations. Kinda like rites of passage for a man. Of course it is not for everyone. To each their own. If it is enjoyed and embraced as a pastime then by all means it should be looked upon as a acceptable sport. I say keep wearing carrhart and tracking your prize. While you are doing something you love, there are those out there that are doing what they enjoy and causing harm not only to themselves but to others. Id rather have deer hunters killing Bambi then dealers killing our kids or society killing our morals. We humans fall prey to hunters of our society everyday. Keep on doing what you Love. Best wishes to getting your trophy.

Hunt on brother. I live in south MS and my old man and I hunt. We hunt whitetail deer. We eat the meat almost exclusively. As a matter of fact the majority of the meat in the freezer is deer meat. It is leaner in fat, it can be used in any dish. We have it processed and we don't by hamburger meat or steak. The only meat that we by from the store is chicken, lunch meat, hot dogs and fish. Actually we catch the fish out of our stocked pond in the spring and summer and we fillet them and put them up in the freezer. There will always be those bleeding hearts who think that you are murdering Bambi most of them have no problem however eating a steak from a steer that was humanely herded into a pen so small he couldn't turn around and then either knocked in the head or had a bullet put through his brain so that he could then be processed and sent to the store for human consumption. Or, eating a chicken that had her head chopped off or her neck rung. At least the deer has a sporting chance of getting away when he is being hunted. That's more of a chance than the cows and chickens have.My advise is to ignore ignorance. You know that the deer hunting and the turkey hunting is regulated by the state game commission. Good luck and good hunting.

Hunting is fine. It's not like you kill the animal just leave it there. As long as you use it for food then I don't have a problem.

there will always be people who are against something, some are against everything.

How can it possibly be right?

Hunting is gruesome sport, not a way to control the animal population. Don't kid yourself.
