Turkey Hunt Shotgun

This is the first turkey hunt we filmed for the Full Throttle Outdoors DVD. A Pretty Boy Decoy and some calling on a slate call got this jake in range for Drew’s 12 gauge Browning Gold Hunter. A follow up stalk and shot was needed but this bird finally ended up on the dinner table. It was a great hunt and this bird’s fan will be used next season in the Pretty Boy Decoy.

    Thats the exact gun we used except we were shooting #4s. He was about a hundred yards away so a second shot was only possible after sneaking around the hill on him

    I use for turkey hunting a Browning Gold extra full choke #2 shot 3 inch mag which gives a quick kill when a proper shot is made.You should have followed up with a second shot after your first shot did not roll him.Bottom line is you got your gobbler.

    the last time i went turkey hunting i sat there for 5 hours got nothin then we left and i ran up on to the top of the leve and 4 jakes and 3 hens hover off
